What you did
You set up an automated media downloader and media streaming service.
That’s pretty awesome. Good job, you! We’ve posted some links you might want to bookmark below, as well as some ways that you can further customize your experience.
Table of Contents:
SABnzbd, Radarr, Sonarr, and Plex URLs
If you followed this guide, you can access any of the services you set up in your browser. We suggest “pinning” the following tabs in your browser or bookmarking them:
- SABnzbd (Usenet downloader): http://localhost:38080/sabnzbd/
- Radarr (Movie manager): http://localhost:7878/
- Sonarr (TV series manager): http://localhost:8989/
- Plex (media streaming software): http://localhost:32400/ or https://app.plex.tv
Note that the “localhost” URLs will only work from a device connected to your local network. To connect remotely, you’ll need your public IP or domain with dynamic DNS, and replace “localhost” with your IP or domain.
Plex, however, works on pretty much all smart TVs, streaming media devices, and mobile platforms. Find the app on the device’s app store, install, and sign in to Plex to watch your content. Mobile apps may have a small fee if you are not a Plex pass member.
Next steps and beyond.
This was an opinionated guide to getting set up in the most simple way possible. There are many things you can do to improve your automation, security, and experience.
For example, you can prioritize 4K UHD HDR movies and TV shows by using custom profiles in Sonarr and Radarr.
You may choose to install a VPN on your media server or on your entire network.
You can also install a TV tuner and use Plex as a Live TV and DVR (Plex pass required).
You are encouraged to browse the settings in each of the services and tweak them to your desires.
You have resources.
There are reddit communities for each of the services and many more:
