Choose your Usenet provider(s)
An unlimited account works for most, but you may choose multiple block accounts, or a mix of both.

Premium access
Wait, I have to pay for this?
Premium Usenet is a paid service.
Some ISP’s include basic newsgroup access, but rarely provide access to binary groups, which is where we will download our media. Usenet providers are companies that exist to provide access to binary Usenet groups.

Step 1. Choose unlimited, block, or both.
An unlimited Usenet account allows you to download as much as you want. Some plans have speed or bandwidth caps at certain levels. A monthly or yearly subscription is required.
A block account gives you a certain amount of data to download at a certain price. It usually does not expire, and no subscription is required.
You may wish to get an unlimited account and a block account from a different provider. This way, if the media is not available from the unlimited provider, you may be able to download it from your block provider.
Step 2. Choose your provider(s).
Choosing a Usenet provider combination can be daunting, but we’ll make it easy on you. You want at least 2 providers, with each provider served from a different Usenet backbone. What’s a backbone? To keep it simple, we’ll call it your Usenet provider’s Usenet provider.
When a media company decides to issue a copyright notice to a Usenet provider, the offending media is removed from the backbone. So, subscribing to Usenet providers from different backbones increases your chances of finding the media you want.
Some Usenet providers use multiple backbones. Learn more from our Usenet provider list.
Step 3. Save your account details.
Your provider will send you an email with your Usenet account details and connection information. Don’t delete it! You’ll use the information to set up your Usenet connection in a later step.
